Food service next week
Hi everyone. A couple of notices about food service next week. Our kitchen will be closed all day next Monday (27th Feb) for a deep clean – we will be open lunch and evening for drinks as usual. And next Tuesday (28th Feb) evening food service will not start until 7.30 pm due to a private function earlier in the day. Thanks for your understanding. Chris and Caroline.

It is with great sadness that Chris & I have to announce that Beau, our lovely Labrador passed away peacefully on Tuesday 13th September. Beau, Kennel Club name Kenmilto Goshawk, was 14.
He worked at Bedford Prison as a drug dog until he retired at the age of 6. Chris & I were privileged to share his company and we hope that our customers enjoyed him too. He certainly became a relaxed pub dog – drug dog to pub dog!

A quiet country pub
Caroline & Chris welcome you to The Plough Inn, Wingfield. Situated in the hamlet of Wingfield, within the parish of Chalgrave in Bedfordshire, The Plough Inn is a pretty, thatched country pub with a lovely atmosphere, low ceilings, oak beams and an open fire. In the summer, the enclosed garden offers scenic views across open countryside. The building itself is approximately 350 years old and was once a coaching inn – it comes with a resident ghost which, like everyone else in the pub, is very friendly and doesn’t cause any bother.
Fullers Real Ales
As a Fullers public house there is the usual selection of excellent real ales, with London Pride and Gales HSB being the regulars – normally there is a guest beer to sample as well. We are also Cask Marque registered.
Home Cooked Food
The pub has a great menu of home cooked food, mostly traditional classics; or try the chef’s specials, which are very tempting. There is also a conservatory available for private hire (up to 24 people).
For the smaller appetite we also offer a Light Bites Menu – great value at only £6.95 for a main course or £8.25 with a starter.
While we don’t pretend to be be a fancy establishment, we do have our standards – so we ask that gentlemen remove their hats inside the pub and that no vest tops are worn. Thank you for your understanding.
Easy to Reach
Being only a short distance from the both M1 and A5, the pub is easily accessible and well worth the trip. Nearby towns and villages include Toddington, Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Leighton Buzzard so if you’re visiting the area why not pay us a visit? We look forward to welcoming you.
